No idea what I’m supposed to write here, let’s just describe where I am, I guess. There’s a lot of water in this room. Quite a few windows, too. Only one coffee stirring stick thingy though. Oh, look. The door says “Employees only.”

Whoops. That race car picture is crooked. Is it supposed to be? I don’t know. Wonder where that unplugged cord goes. There are nails up on that wall… Wonder what used to go there. Alright, enough nitpicking. Time to find some picture or other to stick in here. There. Found me on Google maps. I’m right in that corner office there. They really should get rid of those Weight Loss Clinic signs… I guess that isn’t really their first priority. Looks like enough. Let’s post it.

Hey, I’m Bear, last year’s photo contest WINNER! I had so much fun
taking pictures for the CAHumane calendar with Kimberly from
Chic & Grace Studios! Just look at me, her pictures are sooo beautiful!
But that’s not even the best part, by entering me in the
Calendar Photo Contest & voting, I helped raised money for shelter
animals who aren’t as lucky as me to have a loving home, but I know
they will get one soon with your help!

Your pet could be this year’s calendar cover star but first you have to
enter your furry family member into the contest for only $5 & vote, vote, vote!

They could earn one of 12 spots (6 voted, 6 selected by judges) in the
CAHumane 2020 Calendar! It is such a fun way to donate to animals in
care. Not only that but my mom won awesome prizes too & got to take
home gorgeous professional photos of me!

From the City of Red Deer: More dates to Kick it to the Curb this summer

Kick it to the Curb has returned with more dates to provide Red Deerians the opportunity to find a new home for unwanted and unused items.

This year, on the third weekend of the month from May to October, residents are encouraged to kick their unwanted items to the curb. Previously, the Kick it to the Curb program ran only twice a year – once in June and again in October.

“Residents love the Kick it to the Curb program, and the feedback we get most is that the event should happen more often,” said Lauren Maris, Environmental Program Specialist. “Since weather is always a factor, and summers are so busy, offering more dates allows for higher participation.”

Residents are encouraged to clearly set out and identify their unwanted items with a “free” label so others can find a new life for them.

Items that are always a hit include books, DVDs, furniture and tools. To see a list of what is prohibited, like child car seats, visit www.reddeer.ca/kickit.

Similar to past years, the Kerry Wood Nature Centre will be offering their Trash to Treasure Swap Meet for anyone who would rather not put small, unwanted items on their curb or whose home doesn’t have a curb. The Trash to Treasure Swap Meet will be held the same six weekends throughout the spring, summer and fall as Kick It to the Curb.

Mark your calendars for Kick It to the Curb weekends: June 15-16, July 20-21, August 17-18, September 21-22, and October 19-20.
